- Up to 8 × 12G/3G/HD-SDI inputs
- Capture-to-display latency < 50 ms
- PCIe Gen3 x4 or x8
- 2 × CVBS inputs with audio
- Power consumption below 20 W
The Condor VC300xX expands the EIZO Rugged Solutions portfolio offered by ECRIN Systems with a dedicated high-definition and Ultra High Definition video acquisition solution.
Rather than acting primarily as a GPGPU processing board, the VC300xX is designed to capture video and transfer raw data to the host over PCI Express. Processing, analysis or display can then be handled by the CPU or a graphics processor integrated elsewhere in the platform.
The card supports PCIe Gen3 x4 or x8, with specified capture-to-display latency of less than 50 ms.
The Condor VC300xX supports up to eight SDI video inputs, combining:
The actual number and combination of video streams depend on available system bandwidth.
SDI inputs use 100-ohm differential signalling. The card also provides two 75-ohm CVBS NTSC/PAL inputs and two stereo audio inputs, supporting systems combining digital high-definition and legacy analogue video sources.
Captured data is delivered to the host as raw video over PCIe, allowing customer applications to access and process the video within their own processing chain.
This approach enables the capture board to operate alongside CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs or other specialised processing resources.
Other graphics and GPGPU products within the EIZO Rugged Solutions range can be combined at system level when both video capture and accelerated processing are required.
With specified power consumption of less than 20 W, the VC300xX is suited to platforms where size, weight and power must be tightly controlled.
EIZO specifically identifies UAVs and compact systems as relevant use cases. These characteristics also fit demanding Defense, Aerospace & Security applications, including C5ISR video acquisition environments.
Multi-stream video acquisition can also support Information & Communication Systems where video is one of several data sources used for processing, analysis or supervision.
The Condor VC300xX is available in air-cooled and conduction-cooled rugged variants.
Published environmental specifications include:
The board supports XMC 1.0 and XMC 2.0, with XMC+ also available.
Using the appropriate adapter board, it can be deployed within VME, CompactPCI, VPX and PCIe platforms. VPX rear I/O mapping follows VITA 46.9, supporting X12d, X8d and X16s mappings.
The product can therefore be integrated into VITA-based and SOSA-aligned systems. I would keep this wording rather than describing the VC300xX itself as SOSA-certified.
The VC300xX can be integrated as a COTS building block within platforms combining acquisition, processing, networking, storage and display.
ECRIN Systems can incorporate this technology within its COTS and Modified COTS approach.
When several boards, interfaces and environmental constraints must be considered together, ECRIN Systems can also provide project management, followed by production and system integration.
Obsolescence management can also be included when configuration availability and lifecycle control are key program requirements.
Number of streams, 12G-SDI requirements, XMC integration, PCIe bandwidth, GPU processing or thermal constraints: ECRIN Systems can support complete embedded system definition, from capture-card selection through final integration.
