ONYX-AGX is a ruggedised edge AI computer designed to meet the demands of critical embedded applications requiring intensive real-time data processing. Specifically designed for video analysis and object recognition, it is based on an advanced hardware architecture derived from the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Industrial module.

A high-performance ruggedised computer

ONYX AGX features a 2,048-core NVIDIA Ampere GPU with 64 Tensor Cores, a 12-core Arm Cortex-A78AE processor and two NVDLA v2 accelerators, providing a unified platform optimised for embedded AI processing. The 64 GB LPDDR5 ECC memory guarantees data integrity whilst ensuring high bandwidth, complemented by 64 GB eMMC storage for embedded applications.

ONYX AGX also offers extensive connectivity with interfaces suited to complex environments: ruggedised HDMI outputs, 10 Gb and Gigabit Ethernet, CAN bus, RS232/RS422 serial interfaces and USB, enabling direct integration into heterogeneous embedded architectures. Options such as HD-SDI video inputs and the addition of NVMe storage further enhance its adaptability.

Its mechanical design is based on a compact and robust IP67-rated chassis, fitted with MIL-DTL-38999 connectors and featuring fanless passive cooling. The ONYX-AGX computer is qualified to DO-160 and MIL-STD-810/461 standards and supports an extended operating temperature range from -40°C to +55°C.

The ONYX AGX is part of an industrial control strategy, with a design and manufacturing process that addresses the challenges of sovereignty and control of critical systems.

Focus on AI integration

The integration of artificial intelligence capabilities directly at the edge enables data to be processed as close as possible to its source, reducing latency and limiting dependence on remote infrastructure. In this context, the ONYX AGX provides a tailored solution for systems requiring real-time decision-making, particularly in critical applications.

With a processing power of up to 248 TOPS, the platform is designed to run complex deep learning models whilst maintaining a high level of responsiveness. The combination of the Ampere GPU, Tensor Cores and NVDLA v2 accelerators optimises inference performance, particularly for intensive video processing and continuous data streams.

The inclusion of ECC memory enhances processing reliability, a key factor in environments where data integrity is critical. Furthermore, the software ecosystem based on Ubuntu LTS and the NVIDIA JetPack SDK facilitates the development, optimisation and deployment of AI applications, whilst fully utilising the platform’s hardware capabilities.
