Visit ECRIN Systems at stand B24 in Hall 6 at the Euronaval exhibition in Paris Nord Villepinte

From 3 to 6 November 2026, ECRIN Systems will be exhibiting at EURONAVAL, the leading international naval defence exhibition, at Paris Nord Villepinte, Hall 6 – Stand B24.

This will be an opportunity to meet manufacturers, shipbuilders, equipment suppliers and systems integrators to discuss embedded computing, data processing and communications technologies for naval defence applications.

On-board solutions for naval mission systems

Naval platforms – whether surface vessels, submarines or autonomous systems – incorporate electronic equipment subject to stringent requirements in terms of reliability, availability, performance and environmental resilience.

ECRIN Systems, a French designer and manufacturer of embedded systems, develops solutions for critical defence applications: mission computers, VPX systems, operator consoles, ruggedised servers and network equipment.

These solutions can be deployed in various on-board functions:

  • C4ISR and Command & Control (C2) systems;
  • Radar and sonar processing and sensor data acquisition;
  • Maritime surveillance and mission systems;
  • Graphics, video and embedded artificial intelligence processing;
  • Ethernet networks and communications between on-board equipment.

CRYSTAL-23: a ruggedised naval console for operator stations

Designed for naval command, control and situational awareness applications, the CRYSTAL-23 console offers a multifunctional operator workstation suited to critical environments.

It combines a 23-inch Full HD screen, a backlit industrial keyboard and an ergonomic IP68-rated trackball.

Its processing and display capabilities enable it to display multiple data sources and feeds from on-board systems, with local or remote graphical functions.

The CRYSTAL-23 is specifically designed for Combat Information Centres (CICs), fire control systems and Command & Control applications.

Ruggedised mission computers: ONYX, nanoONYX and µTOPAZE

ECRIN Systems’ mission computers meet the processing and communication requirements of embedded platforms subject to mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic constraints.

nanoONYX: compactness and modularity

The nanoONYX family comprises ultra-compact, ruggedised computers with passive cooling, based on Intel Atom or Intel Core processors and featuring configurable interfaces. Various versions support, amongst other things, HD-SDI video capture, CAN communications and the use of removable storage devices.

ONYX and ONYX-Ultra: embedded computing and video processing

The ONYX range combines computing power, a rugged mechanical design and expansion capabilities for mission systems.

The new ONYX-Ultra computer features an Intel Core i7-13800HRE processor, 64 GB of DDR5 IBECC, dual 10 Gb fibre Ethernet connectivity and NVIDIA GPU acceleration capabilities. HD-SDI video inputs are also available as an option.

µTOPAZE: high-performance processing in 3U VPX format

The µTOPAZE computer is designed for applications requiring high-performance heterogeneous processing resources, including CPUs, GPUs and FPGAs. Its 3U VPX form factor allows for configurations suited to radar, sonar, electronic warfare and signal processing applications..

Ruggedised servers, HPC and artificial intelligence

Naval applications requiring high computing power can utilise various platforms from the ECRIN Systems range.

OPALE-Rugged is a ruggedised 2U server based on 4th and 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. It features an aluminium chassis, an IP65 protection rating, PCIe expansion options, an IPMI management and control system, and configurable MIL-DTL-38999 connectors.

myOPALE-RS is designed for high-performance computing and artificial intelligence applications requiring significant CPU/GPU resources. This 2U server can combine two Intel Xeon Scalable processors and two high-performance GPUs, notably the NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition.

The choice between these platforms depends on processing requirements, as well as the thermal, mechanical, electrical and environmental constraints of the end system.

At EURONAVAL 2026, ECRIN Systems will also be showcasing an embedded artificial intelligence demonstration at its stand B24. This demonstration combines the OPALE V2 system with Axelera AI’s AI acceleration technology to implement real-time video processing and object detection.

QUARTZ: ruggedised Ethernet networks and embedded synchronisation

Embedded networks facilitate communication between computers, sensors and mission-critical equipment.

The QUARTZ range of ruggedised Ethernet switches offers Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet configurations, with copper and fibre-optic interfaces, MIL-DTL-38999 connectors and network management functions suited to demanding environments.

Depending on the version, QUARTZ includes features such as PTP synchronisation and deterministic TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking) communication.

From COTS to Modified COTS: an approach tailored to naval programmes

In addition to standard products, ECRIN Systems supports manufacturers in the integration of ruggedised systems that meet specific requirements.

This Modified COTS approach enables an existing platform to be adapted to different requirements: hardware configuration, expansion cards, connectivity, specific I/O, mechanical design, power supply or cooling, depending on the product’s capabilities.

ECRIN Systems is involved from the technical study and design stages right through to integration, production and lifecycle support.

Environmental qualifications, notably MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and DO-160, are taken into account depending on the products and the requirements applicable to the programmes.
