With the nanoONYX-SDI, ECRIN Systems is expanding its nanoONYX range by offering a platform specifically designed for applications requiring reliable video acquisition and real-time processing. This new computer stands out thanks to the native integration of two HD-SDI inputs, enabling the simultaneous capture of uncompressed high-definition video streams with minimal latency.

This capability is particularly strategic for ISR systems, mission payloads and surveillance platforms, where the quality and continuity of the video signal are essential. HD-SDI technology enables robust transmission over long distances, whilst ensuring the integrity of the video data.

A platform designed for the most demanding environments

The nanoONYX-SDI ruggedised computer is based on a robust architecture that complies with key industry standards, including DO-160, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461. It is therefore capable of operating in environments subject to severe mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic stresses.

Its ultra-compact form factor and fanless design facilitate its integration into embedded systems where space is limited. Thanks to optimised thermal dissipation via conduction and convection, it operates without active cooling, reducing maintenance requirements whilst improving overall reliability.

The nanoONYX-SDI is designed and manufactured in France by ECRIN Systems, ensuring complete control over the value chain and addressing the sovereignty challenges associated with critical systems.

Computing performance and edge processing

Based on the latest generation of Intel® Atom™ or Intel® Core™ processors, the nanoONYX-SDI ruggedised system offers an excellent balance between performance and power consumption. This architecture enables video streams to be processed efficiently directly at the point closest to the sensors.

The system can also incorporate a dedicated artificial intelligence coprocessor (Hailo), paving the way for advanced applications such as object detection, image analysis or real-time decision support. This edge computing capability is now essential for reducing latency and limiting reliance on centralised infrastructure.

A flexible solution for system integrators

Designed as a modular platform, the nanoONYX-SDI incorporates expansion capabilities via AcroPack® / mini PCIe modules. This approach makes it easy to add specific interfaces such as ARINC429, CAN bus, MIL-STD-1553, or analogue and digital inputs/outputs.

With its extensive connectivity and MIL-DTL-38999 connectors, it is suitable for a wide variety of applications, whilst ensuring robustness and longevity. In keeping with the ECRIN Systems approach, the product is designed with long-life management and modifiable COTS solutions in mind.
