Présentation

32 isolated outputs for discrete control

Within the Acromag embedded processor, FPGA and I/O portfolio, the QMC450 provides high-density digital control in the compact VITA 93 QMC form factor.

The module includes 32 bipolar SPST-NO solid-state relay outputs, organized into four groups of eight channels.

Each port has a separate common and is isolated from the other ports and from PCIe host logic. Output channels within an individual port share their common connection.

This provides 32 discrete control outputs within a module measuring only 26 × 78.25 mm.

AC/DC switching up to ±60 V

Outputs support AC or DC switching up to ±60 V DC or AC peak.

Each channel supports up to 150 mA continuous current, with a maximum combined current of 1 A per eight-channel port.

Each port can be configured for either: high-side switching or low-side switching.

Configuration is software controlled, with no jumpers or switches required.

Optional pull-up resistors can also support TTL-compatible low-side applications; the pull-ups are not populated by default.

Output readback and failsafe operation

The QMC450 provides output readback for monitoring output status from the host system.

On power-up or system reset, outputs return to a failsafe state, helping prevent unintended output transitions.

Its I/O pinout is also compatible with the QMC440 digital input module, allowing both modules to be combined for closed-loop monitoring and fault detection.

This makes the QMC450 particularly relevant to industrial control systems combining discrete command and feedback signals.

VITA 93 with PCIe and rugged cooling options

The host interface is PCI Express 2.1 Gen1 x1 at 2.5 Gbps.

VITA 93 enables the module to be integrated through suitable carriers into PCIe, VPX, CompactPCI, VNX+ and other compatible embedded platforms.

Two versions are available:

  • QMC451-1111 - air cooled, 0 to +70°C at 200 LFM.
  • QMC452-1111 - conduction cooled, -40 to +85°C.

The USW-API software environment supports Windows, Linux and VxWorks.

The conduction-cooled version can therefore be integrated into selected Defense, Aerospace & Security platforms requiring high-density digital I/O.

DIGITAL OUTPUTS
Output channel configuration
32 isolated bipolar solid-state SPST-NO relays. Supports AC and DC switching.
Isolation
Individual solid-state relays provide isolation. Four groups (ports) of 8 channels, each with separate port commons, ensure port-to-port isolation. Individual ports are isolated from each other and from the PCIe interface logic. Output lines of an individual port share a common connection and are not isolated from each other.
